Feb 04, 2014 ROSIE SANDERS ‘KALEIDOSCOPE RING’ WINS THE 2014 BRITISH JEWELLERS ASSOCIATION (BJA) ‘COCKTAIL RINGS ON THE CATWALK’ AWARD ROSIE SANDERS’ Kaleidoscope Cocktail Ring has worked its optical charms to successfully win the British Jewellers’ Association ‘Cocktail Rings on the Catwalk Competition’ in the Precious category. The winner was announced on the catwalk at The Jewellery & Watch Show at the NEC in Birmingham to a crowd of trade, fashion and retail experts with the award being presented by Chief Executive of the BJA Simon Rainer and Chairman Gary Williams. The competition was open to all designer jewellers and jewellery companies registered and operating within the UK and each entry was judged by a panel of industry experts specifically looking for strong fresh design ideas with impact, quality of manufacture, and designs that are wearable with commercial viability. BJA marketing manager Lindsey Straughton said of the competition: “We were looking for bold statements to reflect the purpose of a cocktail ring such as a flamboyant piece worn to impress and I think we have found just that... Large rings are a must for 2014 and this competition covers both trendy fashion and opulent precious pieces. Indeed ROSIE SANDERS’ award winning Kaleidoscope Cocktail Ring is a spectacular showpiece that features her trademark Renaissance Rebel collection scroll motif in an eight pointed star arrangement. The ring features a beautiful princess cut London Blue Topaz stone that contrasts with 18ct. yellow gold vermeil but is also available in sterling silver and can even be customised with coloured gem stones for bespoke commissions. Each part of the ring including the shank, the two cartouche style crosses and the claw setting are all hand fabricated and individually soldered together by Rosie in London. On winning the award Rosie said, “To be given this award is a huge endorsement of my design, bench and branding skills. It’s invaluable to gain recognition for all the hard work that goes into maintaining traditional British craft skills at the heart of my brand of neoclassically inspired luxury jewellery. This ring is really special for me as it shows what I am capable of in terms of both creating strong powerful jewellery couture and the quality of craftsmanship that goes into each piece. A few days before I’d even discovered that I’d won, I started to get orders and enquiries via my social media channels!” The ring is further complimented by a matching pendant and a range of stunning designs from the new Kaleidoscope Collection to be released later this year. The new collection forms part III of Rosie’s signature Renaissance Rebel collection which celebrates the life and style of iconic 18th century French courtesan Madame De Pompadour. Buyers are invited to mix and match from parts I, II & III to create their own individual style edit with the Kaleidoscope Cocktail Ring as the ultimate hero piece designed to entice and enchant. As a fitting tribute to Rosie’s creative inspiration, the Renaissance Rebel collection now adorns The Wallace Collection museum in London.
